การประกาศสงครามประชาชนของ พ.ต.ท.ทักษิณ ชินวัตร ก่อนหน้านี้ ซึ่งเป็นที่มาของการเกิดขึ้นของกลุ่มพันธมิตรฯ ที่ออกมาต่อสู้ และกลุ่มคนเสื้อแดงที่มาในหลากหลายชื่อและไม่ทราบแหล่งที่มาชัดเจน เพื่อต่อต้านพันธมิตรฯ ทำให้ประชาชนแตกแยกเป็น 2 ฝ่ายอย่างชัดเจน สังเกตถึงการก่อเกิดของกลุ่มก๊วนต่างๆ ที่เกิดขึ้นมากมายในช่วงนี้ น่าจะเป็นแผนการเดินเกมเอาคืนของ พ.ต.ท.ทักษิณ โดยยกตัวอย่างการเกิดขึ้นของสำนักคิดไทยใหม่ มีการบริจาคเงินเข้าบัญชี เหมือนกับกลุ่มพันธมิตรฯ เพื่อเตรียมไว้ในช่วงการเปลี่ยนผ่านทางประวัติศาสตร์
